Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA), is one of the organic units of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, dedicated to teaching and research in the areas of exact sciences, biological sciences, technologies and engineering.

FCT NOVA was created in 1977 when several departments and courses of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa were reorganization in colleges. In 1980 it was installed in the University Campus of Monte de Caparica, in the municipality of Almada. Currently with 15ha built and even more 17ha for future expansion, this campus is the largest in Europe, housing modern school, laboratory, administrative and social buildings, as well as green spaces.

He joined the Bologna process, thus teaching Integrated Master's (5+0) and 2nd Cycle Master's (3+2) courses. More than 45 courses are taught between bachelor's degrees (1st cycle), master's (2nd cycle) and integrated master's degrees. It also offers 38 doctorates organised in doctoral programs (3rd cycle) and articulated with its 16 research centres. All its courses are accredited by A3ES (Higher Education Assessment and Accreditation Agency) and all engineering courses are recognized by the Order of Engineers, FEANI and EUR-ACE.

Its students have a very high employability rate, about 98%.
