Pandur Dynamic Driving Simulator (PDDS)
The VBR 8X8 PANDUR Dynamic Driving Simulator ( PDDS)
Description:
The Dynamic Driving Simulator of VBR 8X8 PANDUR - Pandur Dynamic Driving Simulator (PDDS), is a project that aims at the implementation of a Virtual Simulation System, materialized in a Dynamic Driving simulator, developed in the context of the addition to the contract of counterparts for the acquisition of the VBR 8x8 PANDUR - signed in 26Set14.
Consisting of 3 base subgroups for specific development of subjects:
- Adaptation of facilities in RI13 to receive the simulator (Simulator Room Sub-Group);
- Geographical Data Sub-Group ( Geographical Data Sub-Group);
- Procedure for acceptance of the PDDS by the Army (Acceptance Monitoring Sub-Group).
Entities:
- "General Dynamics European Land Systems-Steyr" (GDELS-Steyr)
- "General Commercial Services" (GCS)
- EMPORDEF-Tecnologias de Informação, S.A. (ETI).
- Army (EME, DMT, RI13, CIGeoE and DF)
Goals:
- Significant reduction of training costs;
- Virtual reality very close to reality (graphics and 3D sound);
- Modular system to facilitate maintenance /updates of software and visual database;
- Several didactic modules and simulation scenarios with different atmospheric conditions;
- Allows testing the military in unusual situations, not possible driving with real traffic;
- It allows to create situations of danger, without generating any risk to the military and third parties.
Purpose:
Increase the profitability of training and training by minimizing the costs of using real equipment and reducing the risk of accidents, in as realistic a framework as possible.
