SPDIG Historical Retrospective of Printing Techniques
The Digital Preprocessing section (SPDig) is responsible for converting all vector information (Geographic Database) into raster and later analog information, thus creating the Cartographic Database.
The processing of all information encompasses a set of processes and activities that allow its further availability:
- Management and maintenance of automatic prepress processes and plotter printing of all internally processed sheets;
- Research and analysis of new prepress methodologies and color control in printed sheets;
- Rasterization, treatment and georeferencing of cartography for the cartoteca, internal processes and to make available to the public;
- Availability "On Demand" of cartographic products raster for satisfaction of specific orders.
The advantages of the current process (CTP) in Production Chain are numerous, from the reduction of the workload in the production of each sheet, to the agility of the whole process. We can thus produce the same product with quality at a reduced cost. The value that is saved on photoliths, chemical costs and labor is significant.
CIGeoE has developed this process taking into account factors such as speed, quality and above all, competitiveness in the products created that, associated with CMYK color technology, expose benefits too great to be ignored.
